The Bellevue agricultural estate is located in the town of Moule in Grande-Terre. It was founded at the end of the 19th century by a certain Rimbaud, originally from Martinique. M. Damoiseau senior acquired them in April 1942 and founded the eponymous distillery.
Over the course of its history, the Damoiseau Frères company has been led, in addition to cane cultivation, the first processing of sugar cane and the production of agricultural distillates, to engage in activities as different as the cultivation of bananas, the manufacture of sweets or jams… but its main activity has always been the cultivation of sugar cane and its first transformation by grinding for the production of agricultural distillates.
The estate, which has always been in the family bosom, has distilled Damoiseau agricultural white rum at 40 °, 50 ° or 55 ° since 1942, as well as old rum. It is now managed by Hervé Damoiseau (grandson).
